Crosspoint Technologies developed custom software applications that enable NIPSCO to automatically:
- Forecast and analyze the energy usage of its customers
- Report transmission outages
- Better manage its personnel
How it works
After gaining a sense of the business goals of this project, Crosspoint Technologies gathered specific requirements for what needed to be done to reach the goals. Then Crosspoint Technologies' team of software developers built a Web-based software platform to help NIPSCO more efficiently use the data that it was already collecting to enable automated forecasting, analyzing and reporting that would achieve the project’s business goals.
The return
Already, NIPSCO reports that it can better serve its customers and more efficiently manage its employees. Crosspoint Technologies is integrating other NIPSCO systems to further the applications’ effectiveness. Before this solution was in place, NIPSCO had no way of forecasting or reporting transmission outages. Not only do they have an effective solution in place today; they can leverage the automation inherent in the platform to analyze, forecast and report in a very fast and efficient manner.
